Deputies make arrests after finding suspected cocaine in vehicle

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Two people are now behind bars after authorities say they found cocaine in a vehicle during a reported parole violation.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded Friday around noon to the 200 block of Hopkinsville Road to conduct a drug investigation.
Deputies say a probation officer had stated Bradford Elliot, 35, was detained for testing positive for multiple illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl and THC.
Authorities say they then approached Ashton Gross, 30, of Bowling Green, who was sitting in a the passenger seat of a vehicle Elliot had driven to this location.
Deputies say they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked Gross to step out of the vehicle before she was detained.
According to authorities, Gross then tried to run from law enforcement and was quickly apprehended.
During a vehicle search, deputies say they located marijuana, along with a wallet containing Gross’s driver’s license, debit cards and rocks of cocaine. Deputies say they also found a dollar bill containing suspected cocaine, along with a digital scale in the back trunk with suspected methamphetamine residue.
Upon speaking with Gross, deputies say she confirmed the substance in the wallet was cocaine. Deputies say they seized cell phones belonging to both individuals, as well as cash.
Elliot was charged with parole violation and no operators moped license.
Elliot was previously arrested in April of last year on charges of promoting prostitution, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), tampering with physical evidence, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second or greater offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 4 grams of cocaine), trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third or greater offense (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third or greater offense (cocaine), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (hallucinogen), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified) and possession of marijuana.
Authorities say Gross has a prior meth charge and a prior cocaine possession charge out of Warren County.
Both were transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
