AUBURN, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, following a traffic stop in Logan County.

Logan County deputies say on Nov. 28 around 12:06 a.m., they observed a white Ford van traveling westbound on U.S. 68-80.

According to a uniform citation, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office saw the van cross over the white fog line multiple times. The vehicle also would speed up and slow down during travel and was measured going 70 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, authorities say.

During a traffic stop, deputies say they spoke to the driver, identified as Richard House, 42, of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Authorities say House was the only person in the vehicle. Deputies say after asking why his driving was bad, House stated the van “pulls to the right.”

Deputies say House had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage. The vehicle also smelled of marijuana, authorities say.

The citation states House denied that he smokes marijuana and stated he had been drinking earlier, with his last drink being nearly six hours prior.

While House exited the vehicle, authorities say they saw suspected marijuana on the floor.

Following standard field sobriety tests, House was arrested.

Deputies say during a vehicle search, they located two open bottles of alcohol, along with around 2 pounds of marijuana, empty bags, grinders, rolling paper, THC wax and THC vape pens.

House was transported to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office before being lodged at the Logan County Detention Center.

He is charged with speeding 15 miles per hour over the limit, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, first offense, trafficking in marijuana (between 8 ounces and 5 pounds), first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited. Deputies say House has been charged in other states for trafficking marijuana.
