WCPS thanks community for help during turkey drive

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Recently, we told you about the Warren County Public Schools turkey drive. It turns out they reached their goal and then some this year.

The community donated nearly 300 turkeys, and with House on the Hill providing the fixings, many families in the county are now able to have a Thanksgiving meal.

The goal was for 286 turkeys, and they got nearly 300. Because of that, Family Resource & Youth Service director Ben Kirtley has just one message for those who donated:

“I just want to thank Warren County for being the community they are. They always answer the call whenever we put it out.. and so we appreciate our community so much,” he says.

With this goal now reached, the turkeys are set to be delivered to families just in time for Thanksgiving on Thursday.
