We Care Too Benefit Concert raises money for hurricane victims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While the Veterans Day Parade brought many people downtown this weekend, many more took a short trip right down the road to White Squirrel Brewery to support the We Care Too Benefit Concert.

This benefit concert was a 12-hour line up spanning from noon to midnight, raising funds for the Red Cross to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Bands like Dizzorderly Conduct, Bueler’s Day Off and many others performed while patrons danced along to familiar songs. One event organizer says the turnout was a sure thing because Bowling Green knows how to help when people need it the most.

“I knew Bowling Green would turn up because when the when the tornadoes came in 2021, we knew that the whole country really came to our aid. And so it’s the least we could do to try to pay it forward. You never know when next time is, but we’re going to be here for each other. And that’s one way to try to unite everyone, really,” said event organizer Alan Simpson.

Thousands of dollars were raised throughout the day with it all heading to Asheville, North Carolina and the communities around the city that were so heavily impacted during Helene.
