HCA Healthcare Foundation awards grant to local Boys and Girls Club

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Bowling Green Area will benefit from a $25,000 grant thanks to the HCA Healthcare Foundation.

According to a release by TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, the funds are part of the foundation’s Health Equity Catalyst Grant Program.

With the grant, the release says after-school snacks and meals will be provided for children and their families.

“As part of HCA Healthcare, we are thrilled to provide this support to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bowling Green Area,” said Mike Sherrod, chief executive officer of TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital. “TriStar Greenview’s commitment to caring for our community does not stop at our hospital doors. Through this grant, we are providing healthier tomorrows for hundreds of children in our community.”

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Bowling Green area serves more than 500 children aged 6 through 18 each year with after-school and summer programs, the release says.

This year, TriStar Greeview says the Health Equity Catalyst grants were given to nonprofits tackling food insecurity and giving access to healthy foods across the country.
