BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department has announced the loss of a member of its team.

On Thursday, Sept. 26, the department said Stephen “Rosie” Rosebrook, a dedicated firefighter who collapsed after running the Bowling Green 10K on Sept. 14, has died.

According to a release by BGFD, Rosebrook began his career with the Bowling Green Fire Department in 2017 and has served the department as an Engineer since 2021.

A fundraiser was held on Thursday to gather money for Rosebrook as he received treatment.

Rosebrook also served as a paramedic with the Medical Center EMS.

The department says he was “deeply committed to his community and always willing to lend a hand to his fellow firefighters. His passion for service and his generous spirit have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.”

Rosebrook leaves behind his parents, brother, fiancé and one daughter.

The department stated, “His passing has created a tremendous void, and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”

Warren County judge executive Doug Gorman has issued an order that flags be flown at half-staff in honor of Rosebrook across all Warren County buildings and properties immediately until sunset.
