Over 200 volunteers show up for Lakeshore Cleanup

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Thousands of pounds of trash is now out of Barren River Lake thanks to the 37th annual Lakeshore Cleanup.

According to Friends of Barren River Lake & Park, more than 200 volunteers gathered Saturday to clean the lake.

This resulted in 32 tires and 600 bags of trash weighing in at a total of 4.9 tons, the group says.

Organizers say they had a much higher increase in numbers compared to last year.
