Trauma kits come to Logan County Schools
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Logan County School District had its first day back in session Wednesday and got some new gear as well.
Thanks to a grant from the Barren River District Health Department, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was able to secure 14 “bleed control” kits that contain eight smaller personal kits inside complete with things like scissors and gauze.
The hope is that the kits would be of use in a traumatic event, like an earthquake or school shooting.
News 40 spoke to sergeant Eric Evans with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and student resource officer program about the kits.
He said they wouldn’t be possible without the grant. Evans said he and the rest of the SROs are working hard to make sure that campuses stay safe and that they have opportunities to bring new safety elements to the area when possible.
