Scottsville Church of Christ to take over feeding programs

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Scottsville Church of Christ already helps tackle hunger in its local community with a food pantry, but the church will be taking it a step further by taking over two local programs.
Due to growing community needs, True Gospel Fellowship Church is passing the baton to the Scottsville Church of Christ, according to Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland says.
“We are deeply grateful to True Gospel Fellowship Church for their 25 years of tireless work and dedication in addressing hunger in our community,” said Charles Dennis, executive director of Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland. “As we move forward, we are excited to expand our partnership with Scottsville Church of Christ, whose enthusiasm and commitment to serving those in need will undoubtedly continue to make a significant difference in Allen County.”
The church will oversee The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Commodity Supplemental Food Program. More than 3,000 people, including 1,000 children, face food insecurity in Allen County, the release states.
To assist with the transition, mobile distributions will take place in the Scottsville Church of Christ parking lot in July and August.
The Scottsville Church of Christ will officially begin distributing The Emergency Food Assistance Program to the community this September.
