Sheriff’s office investigates fatal single vehicle accident

ALVATON, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatal accident Friday evening.

Deputies received a call to the 7600 block of Woodburn Allen Springs Road for a single-vehicle accident at 9:54 pm.

Upon arrival, CPR was in progress, but the operator was declared deceased at the scene. Deputies identified the operator as James Edward Gregory, 33 of Bowling Green.

Authorities believe that Gregory’s vehicle, a 2013 Ford Edge, was traveling westbound on Highway 240. The vehicle then drove off the right side of the roadway, traveled across a yard, and struck a tree. Alcohol and high rate of speed were also factors in the crash.

There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Plano Volunteer Fire Department, Bowling Green Medical Center, and the Warren County Coroner.
