Allen County Intermediate Center names new principal

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Allen County Schools has named Jeremy Simmons as the new principal of Allen County Intermediate Center, effective July 1, 2024.

Simmons will be succeeding Trey Harper, who will be transitioning to a new role as Director of Pupil Personnel and Human Resources.

According to the district, Simmons has served as the assistant principal of Allen County Intermediate Center since May 2022. Prior to this, he served as a special education teacher at James E. Bazzell Middle School from January 2014 to May 2022 and as an instructional assistant at James E. Bazzell Middle School from May 2012 to January 2014.

Superintendent Travis Hamby expressed his enthusiasm for Simmons’ new role, stating, “We are excited about the passion Mr. Simmons brings to the table. It is evident that he cares deeply about the students and staff at Allen County Intermediate Center. He is a student-centered leader who will advocate for the success of each child. We are excited about where he will take Allen County Intermediate Center in the future.”

Simmons expressed his excitement about his new role, saying, “I am thrilled to become the new principal of Allen County Intermediate Center. Having already been a part of this school, I am familiar with the great work that is already underway on behalf of our students. This should be a seamless transition, and I look forward to continuing to support our students and staff.”
