KYTC announces Smiths Grove road projects near Buc-ee’s

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Road improvements are coming to Smiths Grove.

According to officials with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3, contractors are working to widen and make improvements to KY 101 near Interstate 65.

The construction will widen the northbound and southbound I-65 off-ramps at the Exit 38 interchange. New traffic signals will be installed at both ramps. Additional lanes and a roundabout will serve side streets.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has approved a work permit to be done by Buc-ee’s.

The work zone is set up along KY 101 near mile point 7.8 between I-65 and U.S. 68.

Motorists should expect new traffic patterns, lane closures, lane shifts and flagged traffic. Travel delays may occur.

New lane configurations are already in place and officials encourage travelers to follow guide signs marked by cones or barrels.

Officials ask motorists to follow warning and guide signs to keep the work zone safe.
