Tennessee man arrested, victim listed in critical condition following UTV crash

OLMSTEAD, Ky. – A Tennessee man has been arrested after a weekend crash involving a utility task vehicle.

In a uniform citation obtained by News 40, deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office stated they received a call about a severe collision on Keysburg Road on Saturday.

Deputies say when they got into contact with 19-year-old Devon Crenshaw of Springfield, Tennessee, he said he had not been in an accident and that “everything was ok.”

While responding, deputies say they got another call from the scene about an unresponsive subject who was breathing.

Upon arriving, deputies say they found an unresponsive male subject surrounded by multiple people. Deputies say they also found a severely damaged UTV with debris nearby.

According to the sheriff’s office, Crenshaw said he was a passenger and that the unresponsive male was the driver who was ejected.

Deputies say after asking Crenshaw about not mentioning a need for medical assistance and preventing a more immediate dispatch for EMS, he said he and the driver had consumed alcohol and he “did not want to get in trouble.”

The patient was listed in critical condition at the time of the report, according to the uniform citation.

Crenshaw is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.

He was transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
