Man arrested after crashing into Glasgow police cruiser during pursuit, police say

GLASGOW, Ky. – One man is facing charges after officials say he struck a police cruiser during a pursuit in Glasgow.
The Glasgow Police Department says it attempted to stop a 2003 Chevy Impala driven by Nicholas Sizemore, 19, Sunday after he struck another vehicle at the intersection of West Main Street and N. L. Rogers Wells Boulevard.
During the vehicle pursuit, police say the Impala continued into the parking lot of Rural King, where it struck a Glasgow police cruiser driven by officer Grant Ward.
Ward was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS for minor injuries, according to police. He has since been treated and released at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
No other injuries have been reported.
Sizemore was arrested and taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
Sizemore faces operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, two counts of speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, two counts of failure of an owner to maintain required insurance, first offense, two counts of inadequate silencer (muffler), two counts of improper equipment, two counts of reckless driving, two counts of failure to or improper signal, improper turning, two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, two counts of disregarding a stop sign, no registration receipt, first-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, disregarding a traffic control device (traffic light), failure to report a traffic accident, rear license not illuminated and vehicle a nuisance/noisy, etc.
