BGPD, BGMU warn of scam threatening to shut off service

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police are warning of a scam hitting the local area.

Bowling Green Municipal Utilities confirmed in a social media post that a scam is posing as the company.

BGMU says scammers threaten to disconnect service if a payment is not completed immediately.

The utility company says it will not call you to ask for payments. In addition, it does not accept a payment over the phone.
