LONDON, Ky. – A vigil was held last night for the London police officer who died in an accident Sunday.

Logan Medlock served as an officer with the London City Police, graduating from the Department of Criminal Justice on Jan. 23, 2020. An obituary for Medlock says he was also a volunteer with the Keavy Fire Department and graduated from North Laurel High School.

Medlock died early Sunday morning after police say a suspected drunk driver crashed into Medlock’s police cruiser at an intersection.

Members of the community stood together at London-Laurel County Farmers Market with candles before speaking about Medlock, reflecting on their memories of him.

The London Police Department said they wanted to offer comfort to Medlock’s wife, child and father, an assistant police chief.

On Oct. 31, the London Police Department had a cruiser decorated in Medlock’s honor, where members of the community could leave flowers.

Medlock’s survivors include his wife and their 5-year-old child.
