Glasgow man charged with drug possession after police respond to possible overdose

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is charged with drug possession after police responded to a possible overdose.
According to the Glasgow Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of East Main Street for a possible overdose Tuesday.
GPD says officers located 33-year-old Leathen Gearlds at the scene. Officers say Gearlds “appeared confused and lethargic and was having difficulty maintaining his balance or answering questions.”
Officers say Gearlds was holding a lighter and a pipe containing suspected burnt synthetic cannabinoids. Gearlds allegedly possessed additional suspected cannabinoids.
Gearlds was arrested and charged with public intoxications – controlled substance (excludes alchohol), possession of synthetic drugs – second or subsequent offense and drug paraphernalia buy/possess. He was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
