KSP investigating homicide in Jackson County; subjects considered armed and dangerous

MCKEE, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is continuing to investigate a homicide that took place Saturday in Jackson County.

According to KSP, KSP’s Richmond Post received a call on July 23 around 8:33 p.m. from Jackson County 911 requesting investigative assistance regarding a dead woman located inside of a residence on Rice Hill Road in McKee.

KSP troopers and detectives, along with the Jackson County Coroner’s Office, responded to the area.

Authorities stated a preliminary investigation revealed Mary King Abrams, 83, may have been fatally injured from a puncture wound. An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, according to KSP.

According to an update on KSP’s social media, the ongoing investigation has indicated a car belonging to the victim, a gray 2017 Ford Escape, was stolen from her residence. Authorities stated the license plate is believed to be 151-XRR. The individuals involved are considered armed and dangerous, according to KSP.

Do not approach the vehicle or attempt to contact the occupants for safety reasons. Authorities stated the investigation is ongoing by a KSP detective and foul play is suspected.
