Woman arrested, charged after baby found dead in trash bag

MANCHESTER, Ky. – An arrest has been made in connection to an infant found dead in a trash bag.
Kentucky State Police say Amber Bowling, 21, was taken into custody yesterday afternoon.
According to the coroner, the autopsy of the baby showed that it died from injuries related to blunt force trauma.
Bowling’s arrest citation said that she told police she gave birth on Sunday and later placed the baby in a trash bag and threw it over the upstairs banister of her apartment complex.
She is charged with murder and was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
