Woman accused of assaulting police officer
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is behind bars on charges of third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and a variety of drug charges.
According to the arrest citation, Lashawn Davis, 23, of Bowling Green, was observed hiding objects inside her jacket during a traffic stop Tuesday evening and refused to exit the vehicle multiple times.
Officers said they located a baggie of marijuana, two Xanax pills and one Oxycontin pill inside the vehicle, according to her citation.
The citation states, when attempting to arrest and handcuff Davis, she began fleeing and the officer had to take her down to the ground a total of three times because she kept breaking free by violating swinging her arms and at one point, elbowing him in the chest.
During the foot pursuit, the citation reads she was observed reaching inside her pants and then underneath a car where another baggie of marijuana was later found.
Davis was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
