Webster County man charged with child porn distribution

CLAY, Ky. – A Webster County man is facing over 30 counts of child porn distribution, among other charges.

Kentucky State Police say Damien K. Belt, 31, has been arrested following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

KSP’s Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after authorities say they gained information Belt was sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

KSP says it searched a residence located in Clay on March 14. Police say during the search, they seized equipment used in the crime for further examination.

The investigation is ongoing.

Belt is charged with 33 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old, 33 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old (class-C felonies punishable by five to 10 years in prison) and two counts of promoting a minor under 16 in a sexual performance (class-B felonies punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison).

He remains in the Webster County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
