Warren County Stormwater Department to host annual hazardous waste event

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – If you have any unused items in your house and don’t know where to put them, Saturday, Oct. 31 is your chance to get rid of hazardous items cluttering your cabinets.

The Warren County Stormwater Department is offering a hand to community members to help dispose of the junk. E-waste, paint and batteries are just a few.

Organizers say the reason why this day is so important is because if these items end up in a landfill, it takes longer to recycle and possibly shorten the life of the landfill.

“We host household hazardous waste day two times a year. We do that to make sure that we have a responsible way to dispose of things that you can’t throw in the trash and we make sure they are disposed of in a responsible manner,” said Andrea Strange, the outreach manager for the Warren County Stormwater Department.

The hazardous waste event will be at 999 Lauren Avery Drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
