BONNIEVILLE, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of fleeing police in a stolen vehicle in Hart County on Thursday.

According to a uniform citation, around 10:35 p.m. Thursday, the Kentucky State Police attempted a traffic stop near the 51.4-mile marker of Interstate 65 northbound.

Authorities say while approaching the vehicle, it drove off at a high speed.

Troopers say the vehicle’s lights were turned off before reaching speeds over 131 miles per hour.

The vehicle continued fleeing, entering Hart County, authorities say. Troopers say the Hart County Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips at the 65-mile marker, causing the vehicle to lose control and suddenly stop.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Brandon Richardson of Bowling Green.

Authorities say the vehicle involved was reported stolen out of Louisville.

Two other males, whose identities have not been released, were detained.

Richardson was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.

He faces charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, no registration receipt and no registration plates.
