Warren County mother and son arrested following shooting investigation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A Warren County mother and son are both charged with numerous crimes stemming from an early Friday morning shooting.

Lucinda Cook, 57, was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, third degree assault-police officer and tampering with physical evidence.

Joshua White, 40, was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the Warren County  Sheriff’s Office, around 2:40 a.m. deputies responded to a complaint of a man found shot in the 13000 block of Morgantown Rd.

Elvis Tison, 25, was discovered with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was airlifted to a trauma center in Nashville for treatment.

Deputies then went to a residence on Handley Loop Rd. where the shooting had taken place.

According to authorities, Tison is suspected of attempted theft from the property and was shot as he was leaving.

According to deputies, the residents, Cook and White, never called first responders for help after the shooting occurred. Authorities also said Cook became combative and bit one of the deputies. According to an arrest citation, a loaded 12 gauge shotgun was located underneath a mattress inside the home.

Cook and White were lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
