Warren County man accused of choking and striking 3-year-old in the face

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bowling Green man early Friday morning, who is accused of striking and choking his own 3-year-old son.

Austin Windle, 24, is charged with numerous crimes, including fourth-degree assault-child abuse, first-degree wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to an arrest citation, deputies were called to an apartment on Sylvia Way just after midnight.

A witness told authorities she saw Windle strike the 3-year-old across the face and choke the child twice.

Windle denied the allegations, according to the citation. Deputies said he smelled of alcohol.

Windle is being held inside the Warren County Regional Jail.
