Warren Central High School celebrates summer after long Covid woes

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren Central High School students celebrated their annual block party, but this time with a twist.

Usually the Dragons celebrate their block party to welcome in the school year, but that got cancelled due to covid-19.

Now, here only a small ways to go before summer break, the kids chowed down on burgers and hotdogs grilled by their very own staff.

The high school students enjoyed games, snow cones and friendship in their school parking lot Monday evening.

Warren Central High School principal, Joey Norman wanted the kids to have a fun end of the year after this pandemic, and what better way to celebrate with a welcome-to-summer block party.

“To make these kids successful, we need community here, and this is why we do these things is so that we can build that bridge and build that connection,” said Norman.

Graduating senior Zander Cherry said, “[I came out] to see all my friends and teachers. That’s the whole point of coming out! It’s very fun!”
