Warrant service leads to felony drug arrests

Stanka Brown Booking

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – Edmonson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the 2700 block of Ky. 70 North in Brownsville for warrant service on Toni Brown, 40, late Thursday night.

Upon arrival, deputies noted the strong odor of marijuana in the garage area. They also reported seeing Brown inside the building with Jason Stanka, 35, also of Brownsville, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said they saw numerous forms of drug paraphernalia with suspected drug residue scattered about inside the garage, according to the release.

Stanka is reported to have attempted to exit the garage and failed to comply with law enforcement’s order to stop; he was physically restrained and handcuffed. Brown was informed that she had a warrant from a recent grand jury and was placed under arrest.

Officers state that at that time she became combative and non-compliant to such an extent that a deputy deployed his department-issued taser to enable the other officers to place her in handcuffs.
