Mural of ‘I can’t breathe’ at local barber shop bringing people together

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An artist is using her skill to help the community come together with a new mural painted on the wall of a local barbershop.

The mural, located on the Shake Rag Barbershop building, reads “I can’t breathe,” which were some of the last words uttered from George Floyd’s mouth before he died.

The mural was a collaborative effort between artist Andee Rudloff and Christopher Page, the founder of the barbershop.

Folks are stopping by daily to sign the wall or write an encouraging note.

To many, the mural is a sign of unity.

Shake Rag barbershop will be hosting a Juneteenth celebration 4 p.m. Friday.
