WKU Player of the Week: soccer forward Danielle Lewin

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Our WKU Athletics Player of the Week is Hilltopper soccer forward Danielle Lewin!

The Tops exploded for nine combined goals through two matches last week, and Lewin accounted for five of those.

The graduate student from Lawrenceville, Georgia scored twice and assisted on two scores on Thursday versus Jax State, then placed a perfect pass to Alyvia Walls who scored the game-winner on Sunday against New Mexico State.

Lewin now has seven assists on the year, moving her into fifth place in program history for shares in a single season.

The brace on Thursday also marked the first in her career at Western, which spans across 32 games in two seasons.

The Tops wrapped up play at home unbeaten and will close out the regular season on Sunday on the road against MTSU.

First touch in Murfreesboro is set for 5 p.m. CT.
