Update: Escaped inmate Benjamin Pedigo has not been found

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Sunday night Warren County Regional Jail inmate Benjamin Pedigo escaped custody while taking the trash out with a three-man work crew.

He ran away at 9:14 p.m. taking off in the direction of the Bowling Green Police Department.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Pedigo had not yet been located.

Pedigo’s inmate classification allows him to work in the community under supervision because the state classifies him as a non-violent felony offender.

While he and two other inmates took out the trash, under supervision, in the dock area Sunday night, he threw one bag of trash into the dumpster before fleeing, Harmon said.

Kentucky State Police are overseeing the investigation, and there is a warrant for his arrest for his escape.

Once Pedigo is in back custody he won’t be allowed to participate in work release programs at the jail.

After two days of searching, Harmon says situations like this are frustrating.

Pedigo could face additional jail time once apprehended.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
