UK track, theatre alum heading to ‘The Voice’

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A graduate from the University of Kentucky plans to showcase her voice to compel one or more of the four judges to turn their chair on “The Voice.”
Chloe Abbott, a track and 2020 theatre alumna, will compete in the Blind Auditions airing 8 p.m. tonight and 9 p.m. tomorrow, March 13 and 14, on NBC.
“The Voice” is an Emmy Award-winning music contest featuring singers from across the country. This season’s judges include Chance the Rapper, Niall Horan, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.
The show has five stages, including Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
Abbott, a native of Northville, Michigan, is a four-time All-American sprinter, who transferred to UK from Purdue University. She specialized in the 400-meter dash. At UK, Abbott earned a minor in vocal performance, performed the National Anthem at a men’s basketball game at Rupp Arena and a UK football game at Kroger Field, and was featured in the Department of Theatre and Dance’s 2019 production of “Cabaret.” You can follow her online on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
