Two vehicle collision shuts down Westbound lane on 165
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County first responders found themselves in a sticky situation this morning after a two vehicle collision spilled roofing glue all over the highway.
No one was injured, but one vehicle was badly mangled and flipped on its side as a result of the collision.
Officials say a street sweep truck hit a trailer being pulled by a roofing company and flipped near the 3 mile marker on I-165.
The damaged trailer began leaking roofing glue on both lanes westbound on the highway.
After about 30 minutes, one lane opened up going west as crews continued to clean the scene.
An environmental cleaning crew came out to scrape the glue and absorbent off of the highway.
Travis Puckett with Warren County Emergency Management says he is thankful no one was hurt and believes the crews responded to the incident quickly and appropriately.
