Tours, ferry closed at Mammoth Cave National Park due to government shutdown

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – With news breaking over the weekend of a partial government shutdown, Mammoth Cave National Park has announced they will not be providing guided tours or visitor services to the public until further notice.
The U.S. government partially shut down at midnight Friday after no agreement could be reached on a spending bill.
The Green River Ferry will also not be operating during the shutdown.
According to a news release, the park will keep roads, lookouts and trails accessible to visitors, but emergency and rescue crews will be limited in the area.
