Tornado support group for residents, first responders to begin meetings in May

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many of us know first hand what it takes to rebuild after a disaster, such as the December tornadoes.

But knowing what it takes to heal mentally and emotionally after such devastating loss can be difficult to figure out.

Project Recovery, a state-funded community outreach program, works to address the mental health needs of people affected by the December tornadoes.

Meetings are set up in one on one or in a group setting.

“Anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping or making decisions can be signs that your mental health is struggling,” said Tyler Heckman of Project Recovery.
