BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Capitol hosted an event Tuesday night called “Farm to Front Porch.”

The event, hosted by Telia Butler, featured guests including Pennyroyal Market owner Laura Gilbert, Ace Coffee and The Dive owner Leticia Cline, and “The Pie Queen” Bre Golliher.

Organizers say the event focused on sharing the stories of female leaders in south-central Kentucky, giving them a platform to discuss local issues and inspire others in the community.

“Having a conversation with your neighbor on the front porch is kind of the quintessential, casual way to get into those conversations … whether they’re positive, talking about good food and fun, or a little uncomfortable,” Butler said.

“That’s saying, ‘We don’t want our neighbors to be displaced. We want people to feel welcome in our community,’” she added.

Butler says she hopes this is the first of many “Farm to Front Porch” events and plans to feature even more female leaders from across the region in the future.
