Tennessee man charged after pursuit with troopers on I-65

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A Tennessee man is behind bars in Warren County following a pursuit on I-65.

Gerald Lovett, 45, of Clarksville, is charged with numerous crimes, including first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI and first-degree fleeing or evading police.

According to Kentucky State Police, a trooper attempted a traffic stop after noticing a van traveling at a high rate of speed just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in Bowling Green.

Police said Lovett then fled, resulting in troopers having to use a tire deflation device, causing the vehicle to stop near the 48 mile marker in Barren County.

Lovett exited the vehicle and ran, according to police. He was apprehended a short time later.

Lovett is being held on a $25,000 bond.
