T.J. Regional Health Rehabilitation Services to host Capes & Crowns fundraiser

GLASGOW, Ky. — The T.J. Regional Health’s Rehabilitation Services department is hosting Capes & Crowns, a family-friendly fundraiser benefiting the WHAS Crusade for Children.

According to organizers, children and their parents, grandparents and other family members are invited to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy an afternoon with princesses, superheroes, meet-and-greets, fun activities, music therapy, crafts, photo opportunities, refreshments and a special gift for every child in attendance.

The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 27 from 2-4 p.m. at the T.J. Regional Health Pavilion Community Center at 310 N. L. Rogers Wells Blvd.

T.J. Regional Health says Capes & Crowns gives the community a chance to support an organization that has made a lasting impact for children receiving pediatric rehabilitation services close to home.

Since it began, the release says WHAS Crusade for Children has awarded more than $434,000 to T.J. Regional Health’s Pediatric Rehabilitation program in both Barren and Adair counties, supporting an all-inclusive playground, the new pediatric rehab program at T.J. Health Columbia, music therapy and other interventions.

“Capes & Crowns is our opportunity to create a memorable afternoon for families while giving back to an organization that has supported our pediatric patients for more than two decades,” said Stephanie Smith, director of Rehabilitation Services. “Every ticket purchased helps the WHAS Crusade for Children continue investing in programs that give children the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. As the old saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child” and we are grateful that WHAS Crusade for Children is part of our village.”

T.J. Regional Health encourages families, friends and community members to purchase tickets in advance and join the celebration. Every family is welcome – you do not have to be a patient of T.J. Rehabilitation Services to participate.

Whether their favorite look includes a cape, a crown or both, children can expect an afternoon designed to make them feel special, organizers say.
