Students prepare for White Squirrel Arts Fest coming to Bowling Green in April

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The White Squirrel Arts Fest is coming to Bowling Green next month, and students are already getting creative.

Students from Art Matters are teaming up to create backdrops for a showcase of student talent.

In total, around 35 students are gathering to make their project a reality. Teresa Christmas of Art Matters is working with students to ensure they have a hand in bringing the festival to the local area.

“I’m really excited. I think it’ll be really cool for our community to be introduced to art,” art student Gavin Perry says. “We’re kind of making big blobs then trying to decide where each thing would go and what would look like. I love art, and Ms. Christmas is one of the best art teachers in Bowling Green.”

The White Squirrel Arts Fest will be in Bowling Green from April 21-23. A wide range of ages will showcase their talent in spoken word, music and other art forms.

If you want to attend the festival’s poetry slam, stop by on Saturday, April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Arts Theater.
