Some Kentucky nursing homes and senior living facilities allowing restricted visitation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky nursing homes were given the OK to allow visitation with strict restrictions beginning Wednesday.

While some local nursing homes are not ready to allow visitors, some senior living facilities, operating under slightly different orders, began restricted visitation two weeks ago.

Under the current restrictions, senior living facilities and nursing homes may allow outdoor socially distanced visitations.

James Britt, the executive director of Charter Senior Living in Bowling Green, says since they have been able to allow socially distant visitations and group meals, the morale of the seniors is much higher.

Each living facility is required to create an individualized plan which is then approved by the local health department.
