SoKY’s Choice – African American Museum
Today is February 1st which means this is the first day of Black History Month and you may be surprised to learn that Bowling Green has a very rich black history of its own.
From the black community of Jonesville that was formerly located where WKU is today to the historic ShakeRag district, that history is right here in our own backyard.
Tours at the African American History Museum are free and open to the public. For more information, call (270) 745-5753 or visit them at 1783 Chestnut Street in Bowling Green.
