Smiths Grove man accused of driving drunk, causing head-on collision
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A man from Smiths Grove is accused of driving drunk, resulting in a collision with another vehicle in Warren County.
The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
According to an arrest citation, Michael Dill, 44, was traveling north on Smiths Grove Scottsville Road when he left the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and traveled into the southbound lane, striking another vehicle head-on. An 8-year-old child was in Dill’s truck but was not injured. The driver of the other vehicle was also not injured.
Deputies said they found multiple open containers of beer inside Dill’s vehicle.
Dill was arrested and taken to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, where deputies said he became hostile with hospital staff, who refused to treat him after he began screaming racist and derogatory comments at hospital staff and patients.
While at the hospital, deputies say Dill verbally refused to submit to a blood draw, so he was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail where medical staff refused to admit Dill without medical clearance.
Dill was then taken to The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Once at the hospital, deputies said, again, Dill began screaming anti-Semitic and racist comments.
Once cleared at The Medical Center, he was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
