Shelter worker vows to kiss a pig if everyone picks up auction items

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After weeks of seeing people bid on auctioned items and not pick them up, the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society Store is challenging the community in a porky way.

Since July, the shelter’s store has held online auctions on Thursday nights.

These auctions have had a large number of participants.

The rule is, if you agree to purchase an item on Thursday, you must pick it up the following day or your item will be placed back out for sale.

The reason is because the store doesn’t have the workforce or space to store items for buyers for multiple days.

So, as an incentive, Tracy Moser, the humane educator at the shelter, has agreed to kiss a pig if every person picks up their items Friday.

On top of kissing a pig, local residents and companies have agreed to donate $500 to the shelter if the goal is met as well.
