Second person arrested in overdose death of 17-year-old

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A second person has been arrested after police say a 17-year-old died from a fentanyl overdose.
According to authorities, a joint investigation began with Bowling Green police detectives and the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force after a 17-year-old male was found dead by his mother on Feb. 8 in Bowling Green.
Robert Watkins, 32, of Bowling Green was arrested in February as officials determined he sold the fentanyl pills, police say. As a result, authorities seized 290 fentanyl pills at Watkins’ home, along with other illegal drugs.
During the investigation, authorities say they learned he sold the pills to Keyara Rose, 22, of Bowling Green.
Police say Rose trafficked the pills to the victim the day before he was found, leading to his death.
Watkins faces second-degree manslaughter (causing an overdose death), two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl derivatives), one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance(cocaine), trafficking in a controlled substance (marijuana) and receiving stolen property (firearm).
Rose faces second-degree manslaughter (causing an overdose death), one count of first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (fentanyl derivatives), first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Both remain in the Warren County Detention Center.
