Russell Sims Aquatic Center is now open for the season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Russell Sims Aquatic Center opened its gates Monday for families to come splash and have fun. From splash pads to water slides and pools, families can cool off at the park as temperatures rise.

Organizers say it’s a joy to see the gates open after last year’s seasonal close.

Cameron Levis, the Recreation Manager for the City of Bowling Green said, “all off season, as soon as we close on Labor Day of 2025, we started preparing for the summer of 2026 and so that day is finally here. Once the pool opens you know that summer is starting, so, we are always excited to get to this day and again to put on display what parks and rec is all about and that’s making our community a good place to live, work and play.”

Food and more are also available at the park.

The parks hours of operation are:

Monday- Wednesday: 11AM- 6PM,

Thursday- Saturday: 11AM- 7PM

Sunday: 1pm- 7pm
