Room in the Inn is preparing to house homeless people during the winter

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With winter on it’s way and COVID-19 sticking around, homeless shelters are expecting a high number of homeless individuals to go without shelter this year.

This week is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness week and Room in the Inn in Bowling Green just reopened for the season.

While numbers are lower for now, likely due to the unseasonable warm weather, a Room in the Inn executive directors board member, Doug Depp, says he doesn’t expect it to stay that way.

He also says local churches are able to hold only about half capacity as in previous years due to social distancing.

Depp says the non-profit desperately needs monetary donations. If you would like to donate click here.
