Roller coaster weekend for bargain seekers in south central Kentucky

CAVE CITY, Ky. – It’s going to be a roller coaster of a weekend for many bargain seekers in our area.

The annual 150-mile-long Roller Coaster Yard Sale is taking place for three days.

You can start in Cave City, trvavel on to Burkesville, down to Livingston, Tennessee and back up to Temple Hill.

Along the route, you can find everything from clothes, dishware, bikes, and even cars.

The Roller coaster Yard Sale started in 1986.

This is now the fifth year it has gone into Tennesse. For some, this isn’t their first roller coaster.

“About 30 years ago, we bought a cabin at Eastport Marina in Tennessee and we came from Muncie, Indiana. Along the way, we saw the Roller Coaster Yard Sale signs, and now it’s become a tradition. So, every first weekend in October, we travel from Muncie, Indiana to Dale Hollow and use the long route going to all of the yard sales along the way,” said Cathy Young.

The sale got underway on Thursday and concludes Saturday.
