Revamped Kroger brings jobs and multi-million dollar investment to community

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Kroger celebrated the re-grand opening of their revamped Scottsville Road store location with renovations that are bringing jobs to Bowling Green.

The 40,000-foot expansion underwent a significant remodel, bringing the store to now a total 104,000 square feet.

The project created about 40 new jobs and is nearly a $13 million investment in the community. The new jobs will come from the addition of a Starbucks and an in-store health clinic called The Little Clinic.

“This is a good destination to grow. And Kroger wouldn’t have invested it’s money if it didn’t believe that Bowling Green wasn’t ready for it. I think with everything that’s happening in Bowling Green, given the pandemic and everything we can still continue to grow. You still see restaurants and stuff opening back up. Small businesses starting to open back up. The community here takes care of their local businesses,” said store manager Stefan Lewis.

Kroger also donated $5,000 to Feeding America of Kentucky’s Heartland to support the Warren County Backpack Program.
