Residential burglary suspect arrested in Metcalfe County

EDMONTON, Ky.- Authorities in Metcalfe County have arrested a man whom they say burglarized one home and tried to enter a second home on Wednesday.

Chanse Ennis, 22, is charged with multiple offenses including first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

According to the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office, Ennis first attempted to forcefully enter an occupied residence on Knob Lick Road, but ran off.

A short time later, investigators said Ennis then forced the rear door open at another home on Crenshaw Cassidy Road. Authorities said the homeowner arrived home and noticed the door was open, so he called police.

When authorities arrived, Ennis barricaded himself in one of the bedrooms. Ennis was eventually arrested.

Ennis is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
