PVA mails assessment notices Thursday

You can contest yours May 2nd - June 3rd

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you’re a homeowner, keep an eye on your mailbox. The Warren County Property Valuation Administration sends out assessment notices April 28th, 2022.

The open inspection period usually only last the first two weeks in May, but the PVA has extended that time frame to a month long.

Now you have from May 2nd until June 3rd. This is the time of the year you can contest your assessment if you don’t agree that the PVA’s assessment matches the correct fair cash value.

Both reassessment notices and tornado valuation notices are both on their way. The PVA has already reduced the value of many homes due to tornado damage, but they want your help to make sure they get your homes assessed fairly.

Warren County Property Valuation Administrator Susan Oliver Lewis said, “People need to pay attention to this and ask themselves, ‘Was my home worth this much January 1st?’ If they don’t feel like it is, this is the time of year that you can tell us why.”

If you can’t get away from work to visit the PVA office or don’t have internet access at home, you can head to the Warren County Public Library and  contest your assessment from their computers.
