Pumpkins at the Park at the Hot Rods this weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Pumpkins at the Park is this Saturday and Sunday rain or shine at the Bowling Green Ballpark.

People can come pick a pumpkin for $10 or less. All proceeds go towards Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky and the Buddy House for Down Syndrome.

You’ll have over 400 pumpkins to pick from, but that’s not all. They also have a photo booth, and vendors with tasty fall-themed treats.

Hot Rods COO and General Manager Eric leach came up with the idea after he noticed that fundraising was down this year due to COVID-19. He said why benefiting this organization is important.

“They are so delightful to be around, their smile, their love. I just developed a passion. So I’ve been able to be on the board for the last several years. And I want the community to understand about Down Syndrome and know that they’re just like this. They feel great feelings, love and affection and bring so much value to the community,” said Leach.

This was the first year holding the event, and Leach said he hopes to continue it every year from now on and include more fall-themed activities.
